Job Description

Crown Lift Trucks is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Resident Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our service team, you will be responsible for carrying out service and repairs to equipment on customer sites in a safe, professional, and cost-effective manner.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Carry out service and repairs to equipment on customer sites, maintaining documentation of all works carried out in line with Health and Safety and Quality procedures.
  • Work to a planned schedule of service and maintenance jobs at our client's premises, with occasional requirements to work off-site.
  • Monitor and maintain site stock, ensuring sufficient inventory for day-to-day maintenance of the fleet.
  • Conduct inspections and monitor the safety of repaired and maintained trucks.
  • Accurately complete job sheets, timesheets, and purchase requisition and parts paperwork within required timescales.
  • Take responsibility for all equipment and tooling, ensuring it is in a safe condition for the type of work being undertaken.
  • Work to strict planned schedules and deadlines.
Requirements:
  • Knowledge of at least one of the following areas: mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, or hydraulics.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team, with good communication skills and a high standard of work.
  • Commitment to continuing personal and professional development.
  • Excellent organisational skills, resourcefulness, and solution-driven approach.
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritising workloads to meet tight deadlines.
  • Clear communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Consultation and negotiation skills.
  • Flexibility to cope with diverse needs of the post.
  • Highly motivated and possessing resilience to work under pressure.
  • Positive, personable, and optimistic attitude with a can-do approach.
Desirable Skills:
  • Recent and relevant experience of working in the forklift truck service environment.
  • Engineering qualification.
Vacancy Details:

Hours of Work: Monday to Friday, 8 hours per day, with shift pattern dependent upon Customer.

Company Vehicle: A company van and fuel card are provided, with the option for private use (subject to tax regulations).
