About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and versatile Multidisciplinary Maintenance Expert to join our Client. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of both electrical and mechanical systems within their facility.

This role may require working outside of standard hours, including nights. The ideal candidate will be able to adapt to changing circumstances and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintenance and troubleshooting of electrical and mechanical systems, ensuring they operate efficiently and safely.
  • Responding promptly to equipment failures and faults, diagnosing and repairing issues to minimize downtime.
  • Conducting regular inspections, tests, and measurements to ensure compliance with relevant regulations, safety standards, and company guidelines.
  • Maintaining accurate records of maintenance activities, including repairs, replacements, and equipment performance.
  • Collaborating with other departments and teams to troubleshoot and address cross-functional issues.
  • Identifying opportunities for process improvement, cost reduction, and efficiency enhancement within the engineering department.
  • Assisting in the installation and commissioning of new equipment and machinery.
  • Staying up-to-date with industry trends, technological advancements, and best practices within the engineering field.
Requirements
  • Able to work flexible hours, including unsocial hours and night shifts.
  • Possession of a recognized qualification relevant to the role, such as a mechanical or electrical City & Guilds certificate.
  • Skilled in both electrical and mechanical trades, preferably with an apprenticeship and indentures.
  • Knowledge of other engineering disciplines, including pneumatics, hydraulics, and steam systems.
  • Proven experience in maintaining and troubleshooting electrical and mechanical systems, preferably within a manufacturing environment.
  • Familiarity with relevant health and safety regulations and standards.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work well under pressure.
