Librarian Assistant

**Job Summary**

We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic individual to join our team as a Librarian Assistant at Volunteer Hospitality Llc. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in delivering engaging library programs for young children and their families.

About the Role

• You will lead weekly Bounce and Rhyme sessions at Gorleston Library, promoting early literacy skills and fostering a love for reading among pre-school children.
• Supporting parents and carers through post-activity engagement, encouraging them to share songs, stories, and rhymes with their children.
• Delivering 15-20 minute group sessions within the library, preparing engaging content and collaborating with the Library Manager to set up and clear away after each session.
• Talking to adults attending the session to encourage them to choose books with their children and engage in social chat.
• Encouraging participation from diverse backgrounds through song and rhyme selection.

Requirements

• Prior experience working with young children and their families is desirable.
• Ability to undergo a DBS check and participate in safeguarding training provided by the library.
