Job Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated and proactive Band 6 Occupational Therapist to join our team in providing therapy interventions to patients within our Community Therapy Service and High Dependency Beds at Everdale Grange Care home.

The High Dependency Beds at Everdale Grange were created as part of the discharge to assess pathway, specifically targeting patients with Physical, Behavioural or Cognitive needs who require a period of recovery, reablement and rehabilitation.

The aim of these beds is to provide a safe and supportive environment for patients to undergo assessment and rehabilitation, allowing the multidisciplinary team to support patients and families in determining the most appropriate discharge destination.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide occupational therapy assessments and interventions to patients, working with a person-centred approach.
  • Communicate and work collaboratively with patients, families/carers, other disciplines and agencies to ensure good professional working relationships.
  • Have clinical responsibility for a designated caseload of patients, organising effectively with regard to clinical priorities and service priorities.
  • Take responsibility for the clinical and management supervision of other therapy staff, as agreed with the Team/Clinical/Operational Lead.
  • Contribute to and lead in audit, quality improvement, research and development, and recommendations on clinical practice.
  • Demonstrate understanding of clinical governance and risk management, participating in initiatives as appropriate with support from the Team/Clinical/Operational Lead.
  • Maintain high standards of clinical record keeping, report writing and provide statistical returns as requested.
