We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Senior Nurse Specialist to join our dynamic team within the Division of Planned Care at Rochdale Infirmary.

About the Role

This is an exceptional opportunity for a passionate General Nurse to take on a pivotal role in transforming patient care. As a Junior Sister/Charge Nurse in Ophthalmology, you will bring your expertise to three locations, collaborating with a talented team of Ward/Unit Managers, Lead Nurses, and the Assistant Director of Nursing.

You will play a crucial role in shaping the future of ophthalmic care, guiding the planning, assessment, and implementation of care for patients with diverse needs. Your knowledge will drive service improvements that enhance our quality of care.

Your Responsibilities
  • Nurture a skilled, quality-focused workforce that meets the objectives of our Directorate and Division.
  • Supervise junior staff and teach students in both basic and post-basic courses, empowering them to provide the highest standards of care.
  • Advise on resource optimization, efficiency, and contributing to a collaborative environment.
  • Engage in educational initiatives and carry out regular audits to maintain the highest standards of care and learning.

What You'll Need

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • A UK registered nursing qualification (NMC).
  • Substantial years of experience in a supervisory role.
  • A passion for ophthalmology and a commitment to providing exceptional patient care.
Salary and Benefits

As a Senior Nurse Specialist, you can expect a salary of approximately £55,000-£65,000 per annum, depending on experience. In addition to a competitive salary, you will also receive a comprehensive benefits package, including pension scheme, life assurance, and generous annual leave entitlement.
