Senior Technical Safety Engineer - Contractor

Petrofac is seeking a highly skilled Senior Technical Safety Engineer - Contractor to join their team in Aberdeen, UK. This is a 12-month contract opportunity that offers a unique chance to work with a leading energy company.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Provide engineering input to estimates for project work scopes, ensuring accurate and reliable results.
  2. Participate in and facilitate various engineering review meetings, including HAZOP, LOPA, HAZID, and others.
  3. Assist in updates for the operational safety case and support/defend them to peers and client, including EERA, TRIA, SGIA, ESVA, and dispersion modelling/analysis.
  4. Provide technical expertise to the resolution of technical queries, ensuring all design changes are captured by the change control process.
  5. Conduct site surveys on offshore or onshore assets, ensuring compliance with company procedures and industry standards.
  6. Produce calculations required for the role and participate in design reviews, ensuring all work complies with Contract Health, Safety, Environmental, and Quality policies and procedures.
  7. Checking of engineering deliverables originated by others, ensuring accuracy and reliability.
  8. Provide technical expertise to contribute to the production of discipline-specific engineering deliverables, including Safety Screening Document, HAZOP/HAZID closeout report, and Safety Concerns Register.
Requirements

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in technical safety engineering, with experience in providing engineering input to estimates, participating in engineering review meetings, and conducting site surveys. They will also have excellent communication and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
