About the Role

We are seeking a skilled CNC Machinist to join our team at Sheffield Forgemasters Engineering Ltd. As a CNC Machinist, you will be responsible for operating and programming CNC machine tools to meet the business needs.

The ideal candidate will have experience in machining large high-value forgings and castings, up to 20 tonnes in weight, and will be able to work to complex engineering drawings.

You will be required to display a flexible, positive, and adaptable attitude to work and the production environment, and to sling and manoeuvre large components to facilitate machining operations.

In addition, you will be expected to maintain the SFEL standards through experience of 6S, and to have a full understanding of Health & Safety at work requirements.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will need to have an apprenticeship-trained background or relevant experience in CNC machining.

You will also need to be experienced in using CNC Milling machines, able to read and understand complex engineering drawings, and have knowledge of modern-day tooling.

Furthermore, you will need to have a full understanding of Health & Safety and the ability to work safely, and experience of following and filling out quality documentation.

Finally, you will need to be able to understand and follow CNC programs, and have previous experience of operating a machine in a heavy engineering environment.

Working Hours

The working hours for this role will be an average of 37.5 hours per week, with a mix of morning and night shifts.

The specific hours will be as follows: Mornings: 6:00am - 2:30pm Mon - Thurs, Friday 6:00am - 12:00pm. Nights: 8:00pm - 6:00am Mon - Thu
