Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced and passionate Pastoral Support Worker to join our team at Greenford High School.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Work closely with the SENCO to develop targeted interventions and support students in the classroom, ensuring they receive the right support.
  • Communicate effectively with staff, including Form Tutors and key workers, to ensure a collaborative approach to supporting vulnerable students.
  • Develop relationships with school staff to achieve common goals, promoting positive images and equality of opportunity.
  • Support students in small groups or individually, working with families to overcome learning barriers and improve achievement, progress, and character development.

Requirements:
  • Understanding of current developments in secondary education, particularly in supporting students with special educational needs.
  • Experience of child protection and safeguarding issues, with a commitment to promoting the welfare of children and young people.
  • Knowledge of issues related to equal opportunities and classroom practices, ensuring a supportive environment for all students.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, motivate pupils, and track student progress, with a focus on improving academic outcomes.
