Dietitian (XR06) - Specialist Nutrition and Dietetic Care

We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Dietitian to join our team at Leeds Teaching Hospitals. As a Specialist Dietitian, you will be responsible for providing highly specialist nutritional assessment and advice to patients requiring nutritional support, particularly Enteral Nutrition.
Key Responsibilities- Manage own case load to a level agreed with supervisor/line manager.
- Be involved in the provision of education and training to healthcare staff, patients, care providers and students.
- Be a key member of the multidisciplinary care team to provide integrated dietetic care.
- Shows initiative in assisting and supporting the senior specialist dietitians and the chief dietitian in the day to day management of the department.
- Deliver training to healthcare staff, dietitians and students.
- Be an active member of the out of hours service.
Qualifications
- BSc(Hons) Nutrition & Dietetics or Equivalent
- Experience of working as a Dietitian within a healthcare setting.
- Attendance on relevant specialist accredited post-graduate courses at post-graduate diploma level or equivalent
- HCPC registration.
Desirable
- BDA membership
Skills & behaviours
- Good written and oral communication skills.
- Basic computer key board skills.
- Experience of delivering education and training.
- Knowledge of dietary analysis programmes.
Practical skills
- Able to fulfil Occupational Health requirements for the post (with reasonable adjustments if necessary), including clearance on blood borne viruses in compliance with Trust Policy
Experience
- Knowledge of current issues in Nutrition and Dietetics.
- Demonstrate awareness of specialist dietetic areas.
- Understanding of clinical governance, risk assessment and continuing quality improvement.
Desirable
- Has attended Clinical Supervisory Skills Course, or equivalent.
