About the Role:

Capital City College Group is seeking a dedicated individual to join our team as a Learning Support Assistant at City and Islington College. Reporting to the ALS Manager, this key member of the College's ALS Team will work closely with teaching staff to support learners with learning difficulties and/or disabilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Providing individualized support to learners with varying needs, including those with emotional and behavioural difficulties.
  • Working closely with teaching staff to differentiate and facilitate learning according to learner needs.
  • Developing and implementing effective strategies to support learners, including 1:1, in-class, and group support.
  • Collaborating with the ALS Team to ensure a cohesive approach to supporting learners with disabilities.
  • Participating in training and professional development to enhance skills and knowledge in supporting learners with disabilities.

Requirements:

  • A good general level of education, with a GCSE English and Maths to C or above.
  • Proven experience in providing learning support to students with learning difficulties and/or disabilities in an educational setting.
  • Experience in providing a range of support needs, including 1:1, in-class, and group support.
  • Understanding and commitment to the College's policy on Equality of Opportunity and a willingness to promote these in all aspects of the work.
  • Experience of working with learners with learning/behavioural difficulties and disabilities aged 14 and up.
  • Familiarity with Safeguarding and the SEND Code of Practice.
