Job Title: Research and Contracts Manager

The Great Ormond Street Hospital NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a highly skilled Research and Contracts Manager to join our team. As a key member of our Research and Development Office, you will play a critical role in providing legal advice and managing research contracts.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Provide legal advice to the Trust and review, draft, and amend research contracts.
  • Manage a wide range of research agreements, ensuring good governance and risk management.
  • Understand research protocols and make judgments on resource requirements to determine funding needs.
  • Lead the provision of a high-quality service for research and knowledge exchange contracts.
  • Negotiate contractual and financial terms on commercial and non-commercial contracts.
  • Manage legal and financial risks, enabling future research and teaching activity.
  • Identify and reduce potential liabilities to the Trust and University under research and development connected contracts.
Requirements:
  • Strong understanding of legal considerations regarding clinical research in the NHS.
  • Ability to enter into high-level negotiations with research collaborators and sponsors.
  • Excellent organisational skills and a proven understanding of research contracts.
  • Pragmatic and effective communication skills with senior clinicians, academic staff, and other health service professionals.
