To ensure optimal environmental conditions within buildings, BGIS seeks a skilled Building Services Maintenance Specialist. This role involves carrying out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) tasks, as well as reactive and breakdown works to all mechanical and electrical systems within the site.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure routine PPM is carried out to all mechanical and electrical plant in accordance with site task schedules and asset lists.
  • Complete reactive tasks throughout the building and be proactive in highlighting areas where improvements can be made.
  • Administer sub-contractor work approvals and ensure safe operation while repair or service is carried out on site.
  • Operate a Permit to Work System in accordance with BGIS Quality, Health & Safety procedures and client requirements.
  • Remedy plant faults and defects swiftly to maintain plant in serviceable order at all times.
  • Ensure suitable spares are available to carry out both maintenance and reactive works.
  • Complete all relevant paperwork regarding reactive and breakdown works and pass it to the contract administrator without delay.
  • Prepare and use Method Statements and Risk Assessments for all tasks undertaken to ensure safe working practices.
  • Develop a good working relationship with all members of BGIS staff, subcontractors, and client representatives.
  • Ensure a Safe and Healthy working environment, including wearing uniform and PPE at all times.
  • Present a professional image of BGIS to clients at all times.
  • Ensure all plant rooms under the responsibility of BGIS are locked at all times and kept in a clean and tidy condition.
  • Supervise and monitor sub-contractor works while they are on site undertaking maintenance.
  • Ensure assigned tasks are actioned and completed as appropriate.
  • Complete tasks as directed with the appropriate H&S awareness/implementation.
  • Ensure awareness and compliance to contractual KPI's/SLA's.
  • Keep Computer Based Maintenance system, Maximo, up to date and close out PPM and reactive tickets with accurate data captured.
  • Operate a Permit to Work System in accordance with BGIS Quality, Health & Safety procedures and client requirements.
  • Proactively check the operation of the LOTO system in accordance with BGIS Quality, Health & Safety procedures and client requirements.
  • Oversee the buildings environmental conditions using the BMS System and utilise same to maintain acceptable internal conditions.
