Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Specialist Occupational Therapist to join our multidisciplinary team at Quay View School. The successful candidate will work closely with our Speech and Language Therapist, school counsellor, and other professionals to provide tailored support to students aged 7-19 with SEMH and/or Autism.

Responsibilities
  • Carry out individual student plans and deliver therapy programs to promote independence, social skills, and emotional regulation.
  • Offer timetabled one-to-one and small group interventions to address specific needs and goals.
  • Collaborate with staff, students, and parents to develop effective activity plans that meet sensory needs and ensure optimal stimulation levels.
  • Audit school and home environments to identify areas for improvement and implement changes to support students' well-being.
Requirements

To be considered for this role, you must possess:

  • A BSc in Occupational Therapy or equivalent qualification.
  • At least two years of experience working with children with Autism, Learning Disabilities, and associated difficulties.
  • Good written and spoken communication skills, as well as strong interpersonal skills.
  • Membership of the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) and any other relevant governing bodies.
