Key Responsibilities- Vehicle Diagnosis and Repair: Conduct thorough examinations of vehicles to identify non-routine defects or additional faults, and undertake repairs and servicing in accordance with manufacturer standards.
- Electronic Vehicle Health Checks: Perform electronic vehicle health checks to identify potential issues and recommend necessary repairs.
- Vehicle Road Testing: Conduct road tests to diagnose and test repairs, ensuring that vehicles are safe and roadworthy.
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with the service team to ensure that customers are kept informed of the progress of work on their vehicles and that they are fully briefed on work completed.
- Customer Communication: Discuss technical issues and works with customers, providing a knowledgeable, courteous, responsive, and efficient service.
- Technical Competence: Maintain a high level of technical competence for diagnosing and servicing vehicles, utilizing regular training and support information.
- Training and Development: Offer technical advice and support to workshop apprentices when requested, and be open to trying new methods of work designed to improve efficiency.
- Experience: You will need to be an experienced technician with a relevant formal qualification.
- Communication Skills: Possess good communication skills, with the ability to explain technical information to colleagues and customers accurately and concisely.
- Industry Knowledge: Be passionate about the industry, and committed to the development of your technical knowledge and skills.
- Customer Focus: Be customer-focused, able to keep customers' experience and safety in mind throughout the service or diagnosis and repair.
- Teamwork: Be a team player, able to assist other technicians when the workshop is under pressure, and take ownership of any safety issues you identify in the workshop.
- Attention to Detail: Be thorough and able to work with defined processes and guidelines.
- Quality Focus: Have a quality-focused mindset, with a first-time fix mentality.
- Integrity: Be honest with high levels of integrity.
A full UK driver's license is required for this role.
The salary for this position is £26,000 to £28,000 per annum, plus a time-saving bonus. The OTE is £35,000 per annum.
The working hours for this role are Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 5:30pm, and Saturday, 8:30am to 12:30pm, on a rota basis.
