This role offers an exciting opportunity for an experienced Fire Engineer to join our Building Design Practice as a Senior member of the Fire Engineering team.

The successful candidate will take responsibility for their own projects while working collaboratively with other senior team members to develop the team and strengthen technical capability. They will work in a range of sectors, from residential buildings to rail transportation and new energy facilities, managing multiple engineering projects from inception through to delivery in support of fire safety standards and codes.

\

The estimated salary for this role is around £60,000 - £80,000 per annum, depending on experience and qualifications. We offer a competitive salary that is regularly tested against other consultants.

Key Responsibilities:

  • \
  • Manage multiple engineering projects from inception through to delivery in support of fire safety standards and codes.\
  • Work in a range of sectors, from residential buildings to rail transportation and new energy facilities.\
  • Support junior team members in delivering fire strategies and assessing fire-related risks in projects.\
  • Review and comment on the quality of fire safety related installations.\
  • Undertake tenders for new work and develop client relationships to develop potential work opportunities.\
  • Prepare reports, participate in design team meetings, and liaise with client representatives as required.\
  • Support and develop junior team members.\
  • Act as a technical reviewer on project submissions.\

Requirements:

  • \
  • An engineering degree, preferably in fire engineering or a postgraduate qualification in fire engineering.\
  • Experience in fire engineering roles, including roles outside of consultancy.\
  • Strong experience working with multiple fire standards, including BS9999, NFPA 130, BS9992, and EN45545.\
  • Demonstrate a strong record of successfully delivering fire strategies.\
  • Fire modelling experience is beneficial.\
  • Working towards chartered fire engineer status.\
  • A flexible approach to the working environment and willingness to travel.\
  • Good commercial awareness and customer focus.\
  • Ability to collate information and have a clear and structured approach to report writing.\
