Job Description

Job Title: Departmental Engineering Manager

Job Summary:

Pioneer Selection is seeking a highly skilled Departmental Engineering Manager to provide exceptional engineering leadership at our client's site. This critical role supports the site's 24/7 operations, ensuring the engineering team delivers superb service levels in alignment with strategic business operations goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver consistent engineering support to the site's operations
  • Coach and develop high-performance teams
  • Enhance the site's health, safety, and environmental culture
  • Lead with decisiveness and delegate tasks effectively
  • Utilize digital systems to optimize plant performance and make informed commercial decisions
  • Manage KPIs and strive for 'best in class' standards
  • Lead continuous improvement projects to boost departmental and asset performance

Requirements:

  • Over 5 years of experience in Maintenance Engineering following completion of an apprenticeship or a relevant university degree
  • Advanced expertise in Health Safety & Environment, Enterprise Performance Management, Operational Excellence, and Process Development & Engineering
  • Robust mechanical and electrical engineering knowledge, ideally to NVQ level 3 or equivalent
  • High proficiency in PC use, with strong presentation skills and the capability to communicate effectively at all levels
  • Proven experience in leading, inspiring, and developing high-performance teams
