About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Plumber Multi Trader to join our team at BD Group. As a key member of our facilities services team, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality installation, maintenance, and repair work across various commercial and residential projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform plumbing repairs and maintenance, including fixing leaks, unblocking drains, and repairing/replacing fixtures.
  • Prepare walls and ceilings for plastering, painting, and decorating, including patch repair, plastering, tiling, and silicone work.
  • Install new plumbing systems, ensuring compliance with regulations and safety standards.
  • Handle tasks such as framing baths, repairing/installing bath panels, repairing floor joists, and fixing kitchen cupboards.
  • Conduct routine inspections to identify and address potential issues.
  • Respond promptly to emergency call-outs, minimizing disruption to tenants.
  • Ensure client satisfaction through clear communication and professionalism.
  • Maintain accurate records of all repairs, installations, and inspections, including before and after photos.
  • Leverage expertise in related trades and collaborate with other teams.
  • Utilize IT equipment for job monitoring and work allocation.
  • Ensure all work complies with relevant regulations and health and safety standards.
  • Collaborate closely with other maintenance team members, sharing knowledge and assisting with tasks.
  • Monitor and manage supplies and equipment on the van, ensuring adequate stock levels.
  • Protect work areas with coverings and move furniture to minimize damage risk.
  • Maintain regular contact with Technical Supervisors and report issues promptly.
  • Demonstrate flexibility by participating in out-of-hours call-out duties.
Requirements
  • A minimum qualification (such as City & Guilds or NVQ) in Plumbing.
  • Proficient in plumbing and skilled in at least one other trade.
  • Experience in a repairs environment, with a preference for social housing experience.
  • Excellent understanding of Health and Safety regulations and procedures.
  • Proven ability to deliver high-quality construction projects and efficient output to meet client expectations.
  • Excellent communications skills, ability to build positive working relationships with a range of clients, contractors, and employees.
  • Capability of taking initiative and working independently.
  • Personal resilience and the ability to work effectively under pressure and to deadlines.
Working Arrangements
  • Working pattern: 36 hours per week, Monday to Friday.
  • Location: Barking & Dagenham.
  • Other: A DBS check will be required for this role.
