Job Overview

LHH is collaborating with a leading independent firm in Exeter to find a skilled Audit Senior. The firm prioritizes employee well-being, offering a great work-life balance.

This role involves leading an audit team on-site, mentoring junior team members, and managing a diverse client portfolio. Responsibilities include planning and executing statutory audits for corporate clients, both in the office and at their locations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, execute, and finalize audit assignments while supporting the audit manager.
  • Prepare statutory accounts, corporation tax calculations, and returns for limited companies and groups.
  • Identify opportunities for cross-selling services.
  • Assist with other compliance tasks, including preparing VAT returns.
  • Prepare accounts for partnerships and sole traders, including drafting income tax calculations.
  • Communicate workload progress to management and plan for efficient task completion.
  • Establish and nurture strong relationships with both new and existing clients.
  • Train and oversee junior staff members.
  • Prepare management accounts.

Requirements:

  • Proficient in audit, accounting, and tax software.
  • ACA/ACCA qualification or equivalent.
  • Full clean driver's license.
  • Able to work effectively under pressure.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Familiar with accounting software, including Sage and Xero.
  • Previous use of CCH and Caseware is an advantage.
  • Excel skills, including vlookup, sumif, and Pivot Tables.
