Data Science and Analytics Senior Business Analyst Role

The FCA is seeking a Senior Business Analyst to join its Advanced Analytics and Data Science Units (AA&DSUs) team. This role will be part of the Business Consulting & Pipeline (BC&P) team, responsible for collaborating with stakeholders to discover, scope, and design solutions that meet user and business needs.

  • Convert business requirements into solutions, working collaboratively to generate an appropriate solution.
  • Shape strategic direction by helping management define scope, identify key stakeholders, and provide recommendations on areas/business problems to work on.
  • Manage a pipeline of projects, co-owning with management and reporting on assigned projects, including scoping with data scientists and prioritizing projects with the highest strategic alignment and business value.

The Skills and Experience You Will Have

Minimum

  • Proven experience as a Senior Business Analyst or similar role, e.g., Consultant, Solution/Service Design, or Product Owner.
  • Evidence of Senior Business Analyst experience within data science, advanced analytics, tech/IT consultancy, fintech, or technology/innovation sectors.
  • Experience delivering through the full project lifecycle, including waterfall and agile methodologies.

Essential

  • Experience with collaborative problem-solving and analyzing information sources to identify an appropriate approach.
  • Ability to cultivate and maintain relationships with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Deliver quality outputs at pace in structured and fluid project environments.
  • A pragmatic approach to getting things done and managing multiple competing priorities.
  • Effectively communicating project outcomes/insights to stakeholders, adapting communication style and medium according to the situation.
  • Running discovery/blue sky thinking/ideation workshops with stakeholders.
  • Scoping projects/products and creating relevant assets.
  • A growth mindset with a desire to learn and build on existing skills.
