Culinary Care Specialist

At G &H CARE LIMITED, we are seeking a skilled Culinary Care Specialist to join our team. As a Culinary Care Specialist, you will be responsible for preparing nutritious and well-balanced meals for our residents while considering their dietary needs and preferences. This is a temporary or flexible role that requires the ability to maintain the kitchen's daily operations when regular staff are unavailable.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Meal Preparation: Prepare, cook, and serve nutritious and well-balanced meals based on the dietary requirements of residents, including any allergies, intolerances, or health conditions. Follow menus and recipes, ensuring food quality and presentation meet our standards. Adjust meals for residents with specific dietary needs, such as low-sodium, diabetic, or gluten-free diets.
2. Kitchen Operations: Maintain a clean and safe kitchen environment, adhering to health and safety guidelines and regulations. Ensure all kitchen equipment is in good working order and report any maintenance issues to the relevant authorities. Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure seamless meal service and maintain a positive working relationship with colleagues.
3. Resident Support: Provide exceptional support to residents with specific dietary needs, ensuring their meals are tailored to their requirements. Communicate effectively with residents, their families, and other healthcare professionals to ensure their dietary needs are met. Foster a positive and respectful relationship with residents, promoting a sense of community and well-being in the care home.
Requirements:
- Proven experience in a culinary care setting, with a focus on meal preparation and dietary support
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with residents, staff, and external partners
- Ability to maintain a clean and safe kitchen environment, adhering to health and safety guidelines and regulations
- Flexibility to work varying shifts, including weekends and bank holidays
