About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Safety Assurance Engineer to join our team at Alstom. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety and compliance of our products and services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support our clients' requirements to meet Interoperability and Common Safety Method for Risk Evaluation and Assessment (CSM-REA) standards.
  • Manage and perform safety assurance activities for product introduction and application projects.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable legislative and guidance requirements for Engineering Safety Management, Safety Assurance, Product Acceptance, and Homologation.
  • Comply with Alstom's Safety Instruction and Safety Assessment Process.
Main Responsibilities
  • Maintain product approval for technologies such as Interlocking, Control Centres, or ETCS/ERTMS.
  • Manage, perform, and ensure the application of safety assurance methodologies for projects and programs.
  • Perform the role of Safety Assurance Manager (SAM) on standard application projects or provide support to the SAM on large or complex projects.
  • Implement an Engineering Safety Management Lifecycle for product introduction and large or complex project applications, ensuring compliance with the Common Safety Method for Risk Evaluation and Assessment and CENELEC Standards.
Requirements
  • Education to HND or equivalent in an engineering-related subject.
  • Accreditation as an Expert in Safety Assurance.
  • Desirable: Accreditation of successful completion of Training in the Common Safety Method for Risk Evaluation and Assessment and Senior Expert in Safety Assurance.
Competencies and Skills
  • Ability to work autonomously and prioritize work to meet deadlines.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills in written and spoken English.
  • Good style of concise written arguments and report preparation.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Mentoring ability.
