Senior Project Manager

Wood is currently seeking a highly skilled Senior Project Manager to join its Upstream business unit within the UK. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering projects across multiple phases, ensuring safe delivery, quality, schedule, and cost/budget targets are met, and managing associated risk.
Key Responsibilities:- Contribute to and review project proposals and plans to determine timeframe, procedures, staffing requirements, and resource allocation.
- Set project evaluation parameters and establish project procedures.
- Prepare project execution plans, including scope of work, deliverables, master schedule, budget, org charts, risk register, and other relevant documents.
- Identify, pursue, and develop opportunities for innovation, such as digitalization and technology use, work share, and high-value engineering centers.
- Regularly report project progress to senior management and/or clients.
- Lead ongoing focus on risk identification and mitigation during project execution.
- Ensure project team members are competent to carry out assigned duties.
- Facilitate the setup of information management systems and applications as applicable to suit various life phases of projects.
- Assess scope, complexity, and financial risk associated with projects and negotiate terms.
- Oversee proposals and call-offs within delegation of authority, ensuring compliance with contracting policy and standards of ethical conduct.
- 10-15 years of pertinent experience, including minimum 10 years project management experience.
- Mastering their area and knowledgeable about impacts on other areas.
- Strong technical skills relevant to the project scope.
- Good level of experience in the related field, industry, and locations of the work.
- Proven project management experience and good understanding of business issues.
- In-depth understanding of project goals, drivers, and strategies.
- Proven track record of effectively managing complex projects.
- Knowledge of workflow management, established policies for engineering ownership, globalization of projects, and request for tender process.
- Detailed knowledge and experience of stakeholder and requirements management.
- Knowledgeable about how multi-phase project budgets, including risk contingencies, are assembled.
- Skilled Practitioner in Risk Management processes.
- Able to manage project start-up, produce, and communicate the project execution plan.
- Knowledge of project performance improvement activities and how to implement them on projects.
- Knowledge of supplier categorization and devising appropriate commercial acquisition strategies.
- Advanced knowledge of schedule risk analysis and incorporating results in the base plan.
- Understanding of the value and timing of changes and their impact on project performance.
