Job Summary
Adecco is seeking a highly skilled Contract and Tendering Officer to join our team. As a key member of our public sector client's procurement team, you will be responsible for assisting in the delivery of the capital programme through the procurement of additional/specialist suppliers.
Key Responsibilities
- Procure and coordinate a range of professional and technical services for a homes and schools programme.
- Lead on delivering the procurement of short-term suppliers for construction works for the Capital Delivery Service.
- Work closely with commissioning and procurement colleagues to adhere to council policies and procedure for procurement.
- Develop and present gateway and governance reports for boards and panels.
- Prepare commissioning strategies, procurement strategies, and contract award reports and tender analysis reports.
- Provide professional expertise and direction on tendering and contracts matters.
- Prepare draft forms of contract for approval by legal and boards.
- Manage all related clarifications, complaints and queries escalating where necessary.
- Provide regular updates to the Head of Service for monitoring purposes and progress.
Requirements
- Experience of the construction industry/Housing/Capital works.
- Good understanding of the bills of quantity and specifications.
- Ability to write specification for works incorporating all elements of technical standards, H&S requirements and other good practices.
- Be able to demonstrate industry experience.
- Must have local government/social housing experience.
- Experience of managing projects in a housing setting or similar.
- Experience of Tendering and Contracts or procurement field.
