About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Engineer to join our team at London Gatwick Airport. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for maintaining and repairing vehicles to strict Company standards and adhering to all Health & Safety guidelines.

Main Responsibilities

  • Carry out routine safety inspections, MOT preparations, and service vehicles to a higher standard than DVSA minimum standard.
  • Rectify drivers' defects as requested and attend promptly to vehicle breakdowns.
  • Complete job cards, safety inspections sheets, and drivers' defect reports accurately and efficiently.
  • Ensure the workshop remains clean and tidy at all times.
  • Comply with company Health & Safety Policies and Procedures.
  • Perform other reasonable work-related tasks, including travel.

Requirements

  • Desirable: PCV/HGV Licence, Previous experience, Relevant City & Guilds qualifications – NVQ 2 in mechanical commercial vehicles.
  • Excellent diagnostic skills and familiarity with Department of Transport Standards (DVSA) are highly desirable.
  • Strong team working and communication skills are essential.
