About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Consultant Psychiatrist to join our team at Greater Manchester Mental Health NHS Foundation Trust. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality clinical care to patients in the community, working closely with the Older Adult team and other multidisciplinary teams.

Main Responsibilities

  1. Undertake assessments of referrals and admissions to the service.
  2. Diagnose and formulate management plans for complex presentations.
  3. Provide management and treatment for patients with treatment-resistant and complex conditions.
  4. Assess and manage risk, including vulnerability, suicide risk, and risks to health and safety.
  5. Prepare reports and attend hearings for Mental Health Review Tribunals and Managers' Hearings.
  6. Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams and external partners.
  7. Lead clinical decision-making and develop service clinical priorities.

Requirements

  1. Medical degree and Specialist Register membership.
  2. GMC registration and MRCPsych or equivalent qualification.
  3. Approved Clinician status.
