Fleet Maintenance Supervisor Job Description

About the Role:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Fleet Maintenance Supervisor to join our team at b-spokes Deliveries Limited. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth running of our fleet of vehicles, ensuring they are well-maintained, and compliant with all relevant regulations.

Key Responsibilities:
• Oversee the management of our fleet of approximately 50 vans at our Edinburgh site.
• Complete and update fleet check sheets as instructed by the Fleet Manager.
• Ensure all vehicles are roadworthy and comply with legal requirements.
• Assist with in-house driver training programs.
• Perform minor vehicle maintenance tasks.
• Record driver changeovers in the database and complete thorough vehicle handovers.
• Document and report any damage, fuel, or valet charges and liaise with Fleet and Finance Managers.
• Ensure vans are clean and well-maintained, following standards for pay deductions if necessary.
• Champion safe driving and provide feedback on driver safety scores and incidents.
• Manage accident reports, ensuring all necessary details and documentation are collected.
• Keep track of tools, stocks, and supplies for vehicle maintenance.
• Coordinate servicing, MOTs, repairs, and vehicle hiring/off-hiring with local agencies.
• Conduct driver training and assessments for new and existing drivers.

Requirements:
• Ideally, a motor vehicle mechanic qualification or strong vehicle maintenance experience.
• Previous experience in vehicle maintenance/repair, preferably in Rent-a-Car or automotive repair.
• Ability to assess vehicles for legal compliance and damage.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to report fleet damages clearly.
• Competence in using PCs, including MS Excel, Word, and email.
• Valid, clean driving license.
• Strong attention to detail, reliable, and capable of working independently and as part of a team.
• Flexible approach to working hours.
