We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Chief Engineer to lead our Assured Position, Navigation and Timing (APNT) business. As a technical leader, you will be responsible for the technical governance and engineering delivery of APNT products, from cradle to grave.
Key Responsibilities- Technical integrity of programme work products, including safety assessments, requirement definition and decomposition, architecture, interface definition, development and production verification strategies, qualification, reliability and maintainability, and product certification
- Balancing technical, cost and schedule risk
- Chairing review boards, including but not limited to risk reviews, failure reviews, readiness reviews, design reviews, and configuration control boards (CCB)
- Bachelor's Degree in Electronic Engineering or a related subject
- Strong technical background in the design, qualification and certification of mission critical equipment, including the application of relevant design assurance processes and military standards
- Significant breadth and depth of technical leadership experience spanning the engineering lifecycle, including Systems, Electronics (including Digital, RF and Firmware), Software, Mechanical, Reliability, and Manufacturing Engineering
- Knowledge of the APNT market, including customers, equipment suppliers and key stakeholders
- Highly developed written and oral communication skills with a proven track record in skilful navigation of senior stakeholders across business and industry
- Track record of strong engineering leadership, of delivering through others in a matrix organisation, a structured approach to problem solving, and of developing high performing teams
- Highly dependable, autonomous and results oriented
- Holder, or ability to achieve, SC Clearance
- On the path to achieving, or have already achieved, professional registration as a Chartered Engineer
- Willingness to travel throughout UK, Europe and the US
