Job Title: Pharmacy Technician Lead

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Pharmacy Technician Lead to join our team at Epsom and St Helier University Hospitals NHS Trust. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading and managing the Pharmacy Stores, Distribution, and Procurement teams to ensure the safe and efficient receipt, storage, and distribution of pharmaceuticals.

About the Role
  • Supervise and coordinate the distribution team in accordance with standard operating procedures.
  • Oversee and participate in the running of the Pharmacy Purchasing Office.
  • Maintain and update the CMM pharmacy computer system and Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) contract files.
  • Contribute to and participate in the training, development, and appraisal programme for pharmacy staff.
Key Responsibilities
  • Develop, manage, and implement policies and procedures for the Pharmacy Stores, Distribution, and Procurement teams.
  • Ensure compliance with Department of Health and Social Care (DHSC) and local contracting information on the pharmacy CMM system.
  • Deputise for the Pharmacy Computer System Manager and improve and maintain the system.
  • Collaborate with the medicines management team to maintain DOHSC and local contracting information on the pharmacy CMM system.
Requirements
  • BTEC/NVQ Level 3 or equivalent. Registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC).
  • Extensive hospital experience across various pharmacy departments.
  • Post-qualification experience of medicines distribution and procurement.
