We are seeking a highly skilled Planner or Senior Planner to join our Planning team in Oxford. As part of the wider and fully integrated Planning and Development South team, you will be working collaboratively on planning and development projects across various sectors. Your role will involve assisting in generating fees through dealing with planning matters, enhancing client relationships, and securing new clients. You will also contribute to achieving the financial and other objectives of the Planning team.

Main tasks:

  • Providing professional planning advice to clients on various planning matters
  • Negotiating with local authorities and other statutory undertakers on behalf of clients
  • Preparing written representations, informal hearings, and public inquiry appeals
  • Representing clients on local plans through evidence at local plan enquiries
  • Providing advice on planning potential of sites
  • Undertaking detailed negotiations with local authorities and other statutory bodies
  • Preparing layout plans for development schemes
  • Working in close partnership with other departments to provide a range of services and professional advice
  • Preparing and submitting planning applications
  • Preparing statutory declarations
  • Preparing and submitting applications for Certificates of Lawfulness, proposed or existing
  • Preparing and submitting grounds for appeal

What will it take to be successful?

The ideal candidate will be RTPI Chartered and have post-qualification experience in a planning consultancy role. You will be able to work independently on smaller projects and as part of a team. You will have experience preparing for and attending client meetings and will have strong communication skills and a "can-do" attitude. You will be ambitious and proactive in your own development and will be keen to learn new skills.
