CNC Machine Operator

A great opportunity has arisen for a CNC Machine Operator to join Mansell Recruitment Group's client, a well-established manufacturer with a large modern machine shop. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for setting and operating CNC multi-tasking lathes to manufacture components from raw material (bar stock) for our internal assembly flow lines.

The Role

This role involves working on a variety of projects, utilizing your skills and experience to deliver high-quality components. Your duties and responsibilities will include:
  • Setting and operating CNC lathes to produce small to medium size batches of work in a timely manner.
  • Inspecting work to Engineering drawings using various measuring equipment and reporting any quality defects to the machine shop supervisor.
  • Daily, weekly and monthly maintenance checks on machines, including maintaining good housekeeping standards, 5S requirements and reporting any issues promptly to supervision.
  • Optimising efficiencies through reduced set-up and cycle times, plus tool life monitoring.
  • De-burring, cleaning, final inspection, and completion of all traceability documentation.
  • Carry out such other duties that may be reasonably requested.


The Candidate

We are looking for someone with a strong background in CNC machining, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a team environment. The ideal candidate will have experience of operating CNC lathes, reading and editing Fanuc based programs, and be competent in reading and understanding engineering drawings.

The Package

We are offering up to £40,000 per annum plus a competitive benefits package, reflecting the importance we place on finding the right person for this role.
