Quality Assurance Specialist

About the Role:
This is an exciting opportunity to join Thorlabs as a Quality Inspector, where you will play a crucial role in ensuring the high quality of our products. As a Quality Inspector, you will be responsible for inspecting incoming components, outgoing finished goods, and performing quality and RMA administrative tasks.
Key Responsibilities:
- Inspect incoming components and outgoing finished goods to ensure compliance with dimensional and visual specifications.
- Operate manual measuring equipment within the metrology area to ensure accurate measurements.
- Develop and implement Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for inspection and quality control processes.
- Liaise with production team leaders to identify and resolve quality-related issues.
- Escalate repeated quality process-related concerns to the Quality Engineering team for root cause analysis and corrective action.
- Maintain effective communication with suppliers, internal and external customers, and update them on the status of RMA, NCR, or corrective action reports.
- Coordinate and communicate with internal and external RMA & Quality teams to ensure compliance of products.
- Carry out administrative tasks such as raising NCRs, corrective actions reports, and logging faults.
- Assist with stock control in the RMA and Q1 warehouses, process RMA sales orders, and support product recalls.

Requirements:
- Good understanding of metrology and previous use of measuring tools and equipment.
- Understanding of software and measurement systems, with ability to interpret technical drawings and documentation.
- Computer literate with experience using Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Ability to multitask, time manage, and work independently, with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
