About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Grounds Assistant to join our team at Luton Hoo Hotel & Spa. As a key member of our estate team, you will be responsible for maintaining the hotel's grounds, gardens, and golf course to the highest standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain and improve the estate, gardens, and golf course as instructed by the Estate Manager.
  • Develop a deep understanding of the estate's history, including architects and landscape gardeners, and how they have influenced and developed Luton Hoo.
  • Assist with ongoing project work across the estate, including hard and soft landscaping, and ensure that the estate's responsibilities for all health and safety aspects are maintained.
  • Develop turf culture, hedge cutting, and pruning/training of ornamental trees and shrubs and climbing plants in various styles.
  • Plant and care for various trees, shrubs, and herbaceous plants as instructed by the Estates Manager.
  • Clean snow from driveways, patios, and steps, and spread salt as required.
  • Perform external building maintenance, gutter clearing, drain clearing, and refuse collection.
Requirements
  • Previous experience in a similar role.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Self-starter with a strong eye for detail.
