Respiratory Specialist and Honorary Lecturer

About the Role
\We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Respiratory Specialist and Honorary Lecturer to join our team at North Cumbria Integrated Care NHS Foundation Trust.
\This is an exciting opportunity for a medical professional who is passionate about teaching and education.
\The successful candidate will be responsible for embedding themselves as a practising clinician at NCIC, while also spending part of their time working collaboratively to help develop and deliver teaching in Respiratory Medicine at the Pears Cumbria School of Medicine (PCSM).
\This is a joint post between NCIC and PCSM, which will enable the postholder to develop a career both in medical education alongside clinical practice.
\Main Responsibilities
\The post involves out-patient and in-patient duties, as well as a regular commitment to both in-reach into the medical admissions unit and on-call for general medicine.
\Key responsibilities include:
\- Acting as Subject Lead for Respiratory, working closely with relevant academic leads and clinical colleagues in NCIC and other associated trusts.\
- Using subject matter expertise and educational experience to create and curate high-quality teaching materials.\
- Developing formative and summative assessments based on the learning materials generated.\
- Contribute to the wider delivery of medical school activities, such as participation in admissions, tutoring, and assessment and feedback.\
Requirements
\To be successful in this role, you will need to have:
\- Valid Full Registration with the General Medical Council.\
- Membership of the Royal College of Physicians or equivalent.\
- Entry on the General Medical Council (GMC) Specialist Register via one of the following: Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT), Certificate of Eligibility for Specialist Registration (CESR), or European Community Rights.\
- A strong track record of teaching and education, preferably in respiratory medicine.\
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.\
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.\
Salary and Benefits
\The salary for this role is £90,000 - £100,000 per annum, depending on experience.
