Waters Corporation is seeking a highly skilled Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to join our Clinical Systems team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for designing and developing innovative automated Sample Preparation products and current on-market products.

Our Clinical and IVD Systems deliver customer benefit in the clinical market segment through the evaluation, development, and deployment of innovative clinical system capabilities. As a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer, you will be working within a highly entrepreneurial, team environment where multi-tasking and flexible thinking will be critical.

This is a great opportunity for you to join a team creating the next generation of automated clinical scientific products. Your responsibilities will include:
  • Providing technical design support to other members of the department and other functions within Waters.
  • Interpreting development specifications to produce high-quality engineering information.
  • Liaising with suppliers to improve manufacturing techniques and cost-effective manufacture.
  • Diagnosing and resolving technical Mechanical Engineering issues associated with Clinical Systems Development.
  • Collaborating with external stakeholders and collaborators to develop innovative designs and technical solutions.
  • Developing and sourcing appropriate materials and technologies for medical device design and construction.
Requirements

We are looking for a candidate with:
  • Qualification in Mechanical, Electro/Mechanical Engineering.
  • Mechanical design/engineering experience within the automation industry.
  • Proven effective engineering experience of precision electro-mechanical assemblies.
  • In-depth understanding and application of skills required to design Automated Sample Preparation products.
  • SolidWorks experience.
  • Good working knowledge of medical device materials and processes.
