Job Title: Commercial and Legal Team Coordinator

Job Summary:

The IPD Technical Team has a critical role in ensuring the integrity of direct tax matters affecting employers, employees, and self-employed individuals. As a Strategic Tax Lead, you will be responsible for leading and shaping the work of a professional and highly motivated technical team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the delivery of tax technical advice to inform tax policy design and development.
  • Provide HMRC's view on the application of existing legislation and case law in various circumstances.
  • Identify tax technical risks and develop strategies to prevent exchequer loss.
  • Write and maintain HMRC guidance for subject areas and oversee the development of learning products or training events.
  • Provide tactical input and support preparation of cases for tribunal hearings.

Requirements:

  • Hold one or more of the following qualifications: HMRC's Tax Specialist Programme, Chartered Tax Adviser, Advanced Diploma in International Taxation, or equivalent tax or legal qualifications.
  • Demonstrate strong leadership skills, innovative thinking, and direct tax technical proficiency.

Desirable Criteria:

  • Recent experience in PAYE or International Employee taxation and compliance.
