About the Role

As an Embedded Test Engineer at EA Technology, you will play a critical part in driving our success by leading the design and implementation of test systems across combined hardware and software-based products. Your expertise will be essential in driving continuous quality improvement by combining manual and automated testing through Continuous Integration with hardware-based automated tests across multiple projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Test Case Development: Create detailed test cases based on requirements specifications, design documents, and risk assessments.
  • Test Rigs: Assemble and run test rigs to enable automatic testing of hardware, software, and firmware.
  • Test Execution: Conduct various types of testing, including manual, functional, integration, system, regression, and performance testing.
  • Test Reporting: Prepare detailed test reports summarizing test activities, results, and defect analysis.
  • Design and Implement Robust Test Programs: Develop test programs across all development projects, from specification to deployment.
  • Defect Tracking: Identify and report defects or bugs found during testing using bug tracking tools.
  • Collaborate Across Teams: Ensure testing is aligned with project specifications and requirements.
Requirements
  • Proven experience in testing combined hardware and software-based platforms in an Embedded Testing role.
  • Expertise in automated combined hardware and software testing practices.
  • Strong experience working in both Windows and Linux environments, confident in using the command line.
  • Ability to build hardware test platforms to facilitate automated testing.
  • Experience taking project requirements and translating them into a comprehensive test plan and strategy.
  • Familiarity with software version control systems, bug tracking software, and document management tools.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to clearly explain test strategies and results.
  • Experience in testing equipment for the Electricity Industry is highly desirable.
  • Ability to mentor junior engineers and support their development in software testing.
