Job Title: Senior Flexographic Printing Operator

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Senior Flexographic Printing Operator to join our team due to increasing demand in the UK.

The successful candidate will be working for a highly successful and international business that offers great career progression opportunities in the printing industry.

This role involves working days, nights, and every other weekend on a set rolling 4-week rota. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in printing operations with advanced technical skills.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Control all aspects of the printing process, including quality, lay sheets, colour standards, and quantities, ensuring high-quality output and efficient production, and monitoring and adjusting settings as necessary.
  • Oversee the press at all times, ensuring it is running safely and efficiently, and performing routine maintenance tasks to prevent downtime.
  • Manage ink levels to maintain optimal print quality and reduce waste, and ordering supplies as needed.
  • Capture data accurately, using tools such as the prism computer system to monitor progress, identify areas for improvement, and adjust settings to optimise production.
  • Maintain cleanliness of the printing press and surrounding area at all times, adhering to health and safety regulations and company policies, and conducting regular audits to ensure compliance.
  • Retain samples as required, following quality systems and industry standards, and documenting results for future reference.
  • Carry out quality checks, ensuring adherence to quality systems and industry standards, and implementing corrective actions when necessary, and communicating findings to the team.
  • Accurately complete documentation, following company procedures and meeting deadlines, and communicating effectively with colleagues and stakeholders, and coordinating efforts with other departments as necessary.
  • Follow all aspects of Health & Safety at all times, reporting any incidents or near misses and contributing to risk assessments, and participating in training and development programs to enhance knowledge and skills.
  • Ensure trainees are aware of method statements and are working safely, providing guidance and support when needed, and mentoring junior staff to promote professional growth and development.
  • Inform relevant personnel of problems and material deficiencies, proposing solutions and collaborating with the team to implement changes, and staying up-to-date with industry developments and best practices.
  • Contribute to future development by asking questions, focusing on improvement, and implementing changes, and identifying opportunities for process improvements and suggesting new ideas to management.
Estimated Salary and Benefits:
  • An estimated annual salary of £50,000 - £70,000, depending on experience, plus bonus scheme and overtime pay.
