Job Title: Work-Based Electrical Installation Assessor

Location: Newcastle/South Shields area

Salary: £37,400-£40,000 per annum

Type: Full-time, 37 hours per week, permanent

Job Purpose:

To develop, prepare, and deliver high-quality training programs within work-based learning and provide professional support to help the College meet its objectives.

The role involves visiting various sites across the Newcastle area to assess Electrical Installation students on work placements. You will work with students on a 1:1 basis and deliver Electrical-based workshops to small groups of learners.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Carry out reviewing and assessments of student learning as required by the program.
  2. Prepare effective materials for learners to enable successful assessment.
  3. Assist students in producing and maintaining records/portfolios.
  4. Organize and deliver student workshop activities as required.
  5. Use appropriate classroom/workshop techniques and strategies in delivering learning.
  6. Maintain records to track student achievement and performance.
  7. Provide information, advice, and guidance on progression opportunities.
  8. Function as an integral part of the full curriculum delivery team.
  9. Monitor students' attendance.
  10. Undertake work-based assessment and gather work-based evidence.
  11. Prepare structured learning plans for clients/students in the workplace.
  12. Share best practice and participate in standardization meetings.
  13. Engage with employers and participate in employer engagement activities.

Requirements:

  • Excellent subject knowledge in Electrical Installation with substantial industry experience as an occupationally competent electrician.
  • Ability to support students 1:1 and in groups.
  • Must be a car owner/driver.
  • Relevant Electrical qualification at least Level 3.
  • Teaching Qualification or prepared to complete within a given timescale.
  • Assessors Award or prepared to complete within a given timescale.
