About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced Legal Cashier to join our team at a leading law firm in Leeds. As a Legal Cashier, you will play a crucial role in the firm's finance team, responsible for supervising banking functions, dealing with petty cash, and processing client and office accounting transactions.
Main Responsibilities:
- Supervise banking functions, including bank reconciliations and ensure accurate and timely processing of transactions.
- Manage petty cash, including monthly reconciliation and ensure compliance with company policies.
- Process client and office accounting transactions, including postings and ensure accurate and timely recording of financial data.
- Responsible for credit control, ensuring bills are paid within a timely basis and maintaining good relationships with clients and suppliers.
- Supervise and assist in the sending of monies by electronic transfer using secure online banking systems.
- Assist with the control of designated client deposit accounts, including monthly reconciliation and ensure accurate and timely reporting of financial data.
- Supervise and train junior Legal Cashiers in all aspects of legal cashiering, including banking functions, petty cash management, and accounting transactions.
- Manage the input of all Land Registry and Companies House fees, ensuring accurate and timely recording of financial data.
Requirements:
- Minimum 2 years of experience as a Legal Cashier in a law firm or similar industry.
- Excellent knowledge of Solicitors Accounts and financial regulations.
- Strong organizational and time management skills, with ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to work effectively with colleagues and clients.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive financial information.
