Research Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Researcher to join our team at the University of Oxford's Department of Engineering Science, Institute of Biomedical Engineering.

The post is part of a broader research project to develop new technologies to advance our capacity to interface with the nervous system. As Senior Researcher, you will design, fabricate, and validate implantable devices that monitor the activity of the nervous system, and deliver electrical stimulation along with chemicals/drugs with precise spatial and temporal control.

This role will involve leading, devising, coordinating, and supervising research projects, including providing guidance to researchers and students, and winning further funding to underpin the research.

You should hold a relevant PhD/DPhil in fields such as biomedical, electrical, physics, or materials engineering, and have significant post-qualification research experience.

Experience in the use of laser-based microfabrication methods and strong understanding of laser fundamentals is essential, as well as proven competence in microfabrication techniques for biomedical technologies.

You should also be able to demonstrate responsibility for delivering impactful research as demonstrated by a strong publication record.

Requirements
