Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and enthusiastic Assistant Cook to join our team at Elior. As an Assistant Cook, you will play a vital role in ensuring the highest standards of food quality, safety, and presentation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in daily food preparation and cooking tasks to maintain the company's reputation for quality and service.
  • Support menu planning, paperwork, and administrative tasks such as record-keeping and time tracking.
  • Uphold Taylor Shaw standards on hygiene, food safety, health & safety, and adhere to all relevant regulations.
  • Promptly respond to any incidents, including accidents, thefts, damage, and property loss.
  • Support staff training and induction, while participating in ongoing personal training.
  • Monitor portion control and maintain cleanliness of the premises and equipment.
  • Assist with dining furniture setup, cleaning, and storage.
  • Undertake any other duties necessary for the efficient running of the unit, as requested by the Cook Supervisor or Unit Manager.

Requirements:

  • Good secondary education. Either achieved craft qualifications or willing to study for them.
  • Numerate and able to communicate in written and spoken English.
  • Has the potential to plan kitchen activities and organise the work of others.
  • Demonstrates flair and innovation.
  • Potential to undertake menu planning and costing.
  • Committed to achieving good standards of food hygiene.
