About the Role

Derbyshire County Council is seeking a skilled Culinary Support Specialist to join our dedicated kitchen team at Wirksworth Junior. As a valued member of our team, you will play a key role in supporting the kitchen supervisor in delivering exceptional food services to our students.

Job Description

This position involves working in a dynamic environment, where you will be responsible for various tasks including food preparation, cooking, portion control, allergen compliance, and preparing the dining room for service. You will also serve meals to our customers while ensuring that food hygiene and health & safety regulations are followed.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the kitchen supervisor in all areas of the service
  • Prepare and cook food according to menus and nutritional guidelines
  • Ensure accurate portion control and allergen compliance
  • Prepare the dining room for service
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to demonstrate excellent communication skills, a passion for food, and the ability to work effectively as part of a team. Successful completion of the NVQ food hygiene certificate will be required upon appointment.

Salary Information

The estimated salary for this role is £20,000 - £22,000 per annum, depending on experience and qualifications.
