Job Title: Design Project Manager

We are seeking an experienced Design Project Manager to join our team at the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA). As a key member of our organization, you will play a crucial role in the development and implementation of our Single Design Entity (SDE) project.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the evolution and delivery of the SDE project, ensuring it drives changes to legislative, policy, and regulatory frameworks to support the development, implementation, and future oversight and management of an SDE.
  • Deliver planning and project management output, including preparation of business or technical documentation as part of the strategic governance and delivery of the SDE project.
  • Build effective relationships with stakeholders, including the Department for Transport (DfT), other CAA teams, and key industry participants.
  • Develop and embed suitable project governance arrangements, including stakeholder liaison, planning, meeting scheduling, project control, risk management, reporting, and lessons learned.
  • Maintain records in compliance with CAA Management System requirements.
Requirements:
  • Proven experience in project management, with a strong understanding of aviation and aerospace regulations.
  • Ability to work with minimum supervision, be proactive, and possess strong time management skills to meet deadlines.
  • Experience with MS Office packages, specifically Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM) or Prince 2 certification.
  • Strong knowledge of the CAA and UK aviation industry, including key legislative factors influencing and determining the CAA's role as an airspace regulator.
