Job Title: Tax Accountant

We are seeking a highly skilled Tax Accountant to join our Finance team at A&O Shearman. As a key member of our Partners' Affairs and Tax (PAT) team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the compliance of our UK tax affairs and providing high-quality tax advice to our business stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Preparation of partnership tax computations and submission of tax returns to HM Revenue & Customs
  • Preparation of UK tax computations for various partnerships and timely submission of tax returns
  • Preparation of corporate tax and wider governance returns, including SAO, for our subsidiary corporate entities
  • Assisting in the tax accounting and preparation of tax notes for disclosure in our statutory accounts
  • Completion of VAT returns, including management and reconciliation of VAT accounting
Requirements:
  • Good corporate/mixed tax compliance experience, with a strong analytical and numeracy skillset
  • Ability to communicate complex technical tax and accounting matters to non-specialists
  • Experience of submitting corporate and partnership tax returns online using tax software packages
  • Strong IT skills, specifically with the use of Excel
