About the Role

Brockenhurst College is seeking a highly skilled Senior Software Engineer to join its team. As a key member of the college's technology department, you will play a crucial role in designing, developing, and maintaining software systems that support the college's strategic objectives.

In this role, you will work closely with the Learning Technology and Development Manager to scope and develop systems development plans. You will design, develop, and maintain software in-line with the college's systems development plans, including integrations between systems where data is transferred and accessed internally.

You will also ensure consistent design, user experience, and accessibility across all developed systems. Additionally, you will assist in supporting and mentoring other members of the team to share knowledge and development techniques, identifying training needs as appropriate.

The ideal candidate will have a Level 3 qualification in an IT or development-related field, or relevant work experience. They will also have knowledge and experience of MSSQL database modelling, design, building, and maintenance, as well as C#, .NET, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript (or derivatives).

Other key responsibilities include working with the college IT teams to ensure systems developed by the team comply with GDPR and access permissions are secured using current best practices, and working with the college MI team to ensure data is correctly stored, managed, and accessed efficiently and effectively.

The salary for this position is £38,825 - £41,193 per annum, depending on experience.
