Barclays is seeking a talented Software Engineer to join our team in Glasgow. As a key member of our digital platform capability, you will play a crucial role in modernizing our digital estate and delivering a market-leading digital offering with customer experience at its heart.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Design, develop, and improve software solutions using industry-aligned programming languages, frameworks, and tools.
  2. Collaborate with product managers, designers, and engineers to define software requirements, devise solution strategies, and ensure seamless integration and alignment with business objectives.
  3. Participate in code reviews, promote a culture of code quality and knowledge sharing, and stay informed of industry technology trends and innovations.
  4. Implement secure coding practices to mitigate vulnerabilities, protect sensitive data, and ensure secure software solutions.
  5. Develop effective unit testing practices to ensure proper code design, readability, and reliability.
  6. Identify ways to mitigate risk and develop new policies/procedures in support of the control and governance agenda.
  7. Take ownership for managing risk and strengthening controls in relation to the work done.
  8. Engage in complex analysis of data from multiple sources to solve problems creatively and effectively.

Requirements

  • Solid experience in full stack development technologies such as Java, React, API & microservices, PostgreSQL.
  • Knowledge of Site Reliability Engineering principles, project exposure to Ping Identity/ForgeRock products, and overall IAM engineering experience.
  • Cloud computing experience (AWS, Azure), DevSecOps, and knowledge of Infrastructure as a Code tools (Ansible, Terraform).
  • Containerization and knowledge of authentication and biometric system design.
