Job Overview
Hireful seeks a highly skilled Civil and Criminal Litigation Lawyer to join its team. As a key member of the litigation department, you will be responsible for providing legal services to South Oxfordshire and Vale of White Horse District Councils. This is a permanent position with a competitive salary of £48,530 - 54,064.

About the Role
The successful candidate will have extensive experience in civil and criminal litigation law and practice. You will be able to handle complex cases, represent clients in court, and provide expert advice on various aspects of local authority legal work. A thorough knowledge of PACE and other relevant legislation is essential.

Main Responsibilities
- Handle civil litigation work arising out of all the councils' functions
- Represent the councils in courts and at inquiries and tribunals
- Carry out support in debt recovery in accordance with the councils' procedures
- Attend committees such as Licensing Committee advising and representing the Council
- Deliver training to officers on legislation and litigation procedures including PACE

Requirements
- Admitted as a Chartered Legal Executive or equivalent qualification or experience
- Two years' experience of relevant legal work
- Thorough and up-to-date knowledge of criminal and civil litigation law and practice
- Experience of advocacy work and attending local Magistrates' Court, County Court, and Crown Court
