IDEX Consulting Ltd is seeking an experienced Actuarial Assistant to join their team. As an Actuarial Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting the Scheme Actuary in delivering high-quality actuarial services to clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Attend client meetings and present actuarial findings to engage with clients on relevant key issues.
  • Review and check a variety of actuarial calculations to ensure accuracy and quality.
  • Understand the implications of actuarial results to provide advice on matters such as contribution rates, levy reduction, and liability reduction exercises.
  • Draft reports, emails, and presentations to deliver actuarial results and advice to clients.
  • Develop and maintain a good understanding of relevant technical issues, including TASs, Codes of Practice, scheme documentation, and the supporting regulatory framework.
  • Take a proactive role in personal development and training to stay up-to-date with industry developments.
Requirements
  • Newly or nearly qualified as an Actuary with experience working in the pensions industry.
  • Broad understanding of how UK pensions schemes operate, with an understanding of UK Pensions Legislation.
  • Excellent planning skills with the ability to prioritise and complete work in accordance with deadlines.
  • Highly developed written and verbal communication skills to explain complex issues in simplified terms to clients and team members.
  • Strong IT skills with good working knowledge of MS Office suite of products, in particular Excel.
  • An inquisitive and analytical mind to identify opportunities for improvement and implement changes.
