Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced HGV Class 2 Driver to join our team as a Drainage Engineer. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for operating specialist jetting tankers and working on private and public land to clear sewer blockages and maintain drainage systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive and operate specialist jetting tankers, including Super Suction Jetting Tankers and Combination Jetting Tankers.
- Attend emergency call-out situations to deal with sewer blockages, flooding, and pollution.
- Work on private and public land, adhering to statutory health, safety, and environmental procedures.
- Maintain vehicle checks at the start and finish of each shift.
- Ensure accurate documentation of all jobs.
- Report defects, accidents, and near misses to the Line Manager immediately.
- Maintain driver's log book in compliance with MOT rules and procedures.
- Ensure personal protective equipment (PPE) remains fit for purpose.
- Keep vehicles and equipment clean and free from rubbish.
- Attend training sessions as required.
Requirements
- Class 2 driving license and CPC certification.
- Able to work with minimal supervision and receive instructions remotely.
- Prior experience in liquid waste products handling in the water utility or environmental services sector is desirable.
- Knowledge of safe working practices in streetworks is preferred.
