Job Title: M&E Estimator Specialist

This is a remote role for an experienced M&E Estimator. The successful candidate will be expected to visit the office in Cambridgeshire on occasion, approximately every couple of weeks, and make occasional site visits.

The company is a nationwide M&E maintenance provider based in Cambridgeshire with over 35 years of experience. They deliver M&E building services maintenance to various sectors throughout the UK.

Due to growth and an internal promotion, they are seeking a highly skilled M&E Estimator to join their team of six.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Compile estimates of the cost to provide clients or potential clients with our maintenance services, analyzing material and people costs to create competitive quotes.
  • Work flexibly, observing all agreements, customs, and practices concerning interchangeability of jobs.
  • Carry out detailed M&E planned preventative maintenance (PPM) cost pricing and estimation for new contracts, variations to contracts, and re-tendered contracts, including creating asset schedules and assisting with proposal preparation.
  • Undertake ongoing improvements associated with the production, submittal, and internal processing of enquiries and their related systems.
  • Assimilate and communicate details of internal and customer-initiated leads or enquiries and other sales-related intelligence to the Business Development Director.
  • Timely and accurately price and estimate new, renewed, and re-tendered M&E PPM contracts, including creating asset schedules and proposing preparation that reflects customer requirements.
  • Undertake site surveys, independently or in conjunction with others.
  • Obtain technically compliant and commercially advantageous prices from specialist suppliers and subcontractors according to enquiry requirements.
  • Review and evaluate technical and commercial requirements of pre-prepared tender documentation, specifications, and SLAs, balancing strict technical, statutory, and performance-related compliance with commercial risk and competitive value.
  • Implement and assist in the efficient and effective handover of new, renewed, and re-tendered contracts to the operations department according to internal processes.

Requirements:

  • Experience as an M&E Estimator or similar role.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel and Word software packages.
